Six More Participants To Recite At 65th International Quran Assembly Tonight

Kuala lumpur: Six more participants will showcase their Quran recitation skills tonight at the third day of the 65th International Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly (MTHQA), being held at the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Kuala Lumpur.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the session will begin with Ahmed Nabeeh Abdul Gaadhir from the Maldives, followed by Aimnah Toulours from Cambodia and Halima Baudting Dalundong from the Philippines. Also set to recite are Mohamadou Mourtala Allyou from Cameroon, Mud-Dath-thir Abrahams from South Africa, and Baker Omar Mohammad Al Saggar from Jordan, as announced in a Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) Facebook post.

Earlier in the day, eight participants in the memorisation category had already presented their recitations. The 65th MTHQA, running from August 2 to 9, is themed "Developing a MADANI Ummah" and features 71 participants from 49 countries.

Winners in the recitation category will receive RM40,000, with second and third place taking home RM30,000 and RM20,000 respectively, along with gold items sponsored by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM).
