Six Reciters To Take The Stage Tonight On Fourth Day Of 65th MTHQA

Kuala lumpur: The fourth day of the 65th International Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly (MTHQA), held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, will feature six more participants showcasing their Quran recitation skills tonight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) announced in a Facebook post that tonight's event will begin at 8.45 pm with a recitation by Albion Cerkini of Kosovo, followed by Asmaa Adel Sayed Ahmed Mohamed from Egypt. The session will continue with recitations by Fazaldine Abdou from Comoros, Muhammad Umair Karroo from Mauritius, Najihah Hajicheama from Thailand, and Zaw Min Htike from Myanmar.

The event, taking place at Dewan Merdeka, will be broadcast live on RTM TV1 and JAKIM's official social media platforms starting at 8.30 pm. Earlier in the day, participants in the memorisation category from countries including Togo, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, India, Jordan, the United States, and Senegal had presented their recitations.

Themed 'Developing a MADANI Ummah', the 65th MTHQA, which runs from August 2 to 9, features 71 participants from 49 countries. Winners in the recitation category will receive RM40,000, with second and third place taking home RM30,000 and RM20,000, respectively, along with gold items sponsored by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM).
