Kuala lumpur: Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan (SJPP) has approved RM4.9 billion in financing for more than 6,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the first half of 2026, announced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. This initiative is part of the government's broader efforts to enhance MSMEs' access to financial resources, reduce business costs, and support the sustainability of their operations.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, SJPP is a wholly-owned company under the Minister of Finance (Incorporated). Prime Minister Anwar, who also holds the position of Finance Minister, elaborated on the approvals during the Minister's Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat. He was responding to a query from Lee Chuan How (PH-Ipoh Timor) regarding the MADANI government's awareness of the challenges faced by the business sector, particularly MSME entrepreneurs, in the current global environment, and the measures being taken to support their sustainability.
Anwar highlighted that the government has allocated various loans and financing guarantees exceeding RM15 billion to meet the working capital requirements of MSMEs. Out of this sum, RM5 billion has been specifically set aside for Bumiputera businesses, underscoring the government's commitment to supporting this segment of the business community.
