Kuala langat: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Batu Laut is set to introduce three to four new digital classrooms this year to enhance the integration of technology in teaching and learning, aligning with modern educational standards. Acting principal Hamimi Hashim announced that these classrooms will be equipped with smart TVs, smartboards, laptops, and internet access to create more interactive lessons and facilitate better concept comprehension among students.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative has received backing from Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister and Sepang MP Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu, who contributed RM20,000 in 2024 for the establishment of four digital classrooms. Hamimi noted that an additional RM20,000 is expected from Datuk Aiman this year, which will help set up three or four more digital classrooms.
Kampung Batu Laut, an adopted village by the Malaysian National News Agency under the Santuni MADANI: One Leader, One Village Programme, is among the oldest villages in Selangor's Kuala Langat district. The announcement was made during the 2025 Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony and the launch of the Digital Classroom. The event also celebrated students' achievements in the 2025 SPM and end-of-semester exams for Forms One to Four, despite a slight decline in SPM results.

Meanwhile, Aiman Athirah highlighted efforts to expand digital classrooms in schools within the Sepang and Kuala Langat areas. The initiative, supported by cooperation with the Sepang and Kuala Langat District Education Offices, will be implemented in stages from 2024, covering both primary and secondary schools.
