Songkhla: The charity match against Songkhla FC is seen as the perfect warm-up opportunity for the Turtles to strengthen their line-up ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Kuching City FC on 18 October. Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach Badrul Afzan Razali said his side, invited by the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organisation, will take on Thai club Songkhla FC at the Tinshlanonda Stadium tomorrow night.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, apart from Songkhla FC, TFC's players will also face top Thai clubs Buriram United and BG Pathum United. Badrul Afzan emphasized that this charity or friendly match will serve as an excellent platform for TFC to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the crucial FA Cup quarter-final against Kuching City FC. He stressed the importance of treating the match as a competitive encounter to gain valuable knowledge, experience, and tactical awareness.
Despite missing four key players, Badrul Afzan, a former Terengganu midfielder, remains confident that his team can secure victory and raise TFC's profile on the international stage. First-choice goalkeeper Suhaimi Husin and defenders Muhammad Ubaidullah Shamsul Fazili and Muhammad Azam Azmi Murad will miss the trip as they are on national duty with Harimau Malaya for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Additionally, new import defender Kyaw Min Oo has returned to Myanmar to join his national team. However, Badrul Afzan expressed confidence that the remaining players are capable of delivering a positive result.
