Kem iskandar: The role of the Special Service Regiment is becoming increasingly critical and challenging as it confronts complex security threats, including a growing range of non-traditional dangers. Commander of the 21st Special Service Group (GGK), Major General Ahmad Shuhaimi Mat Wajab, emphasized that modern warfare is no longer confined to armed conflict but now extends to information, cyber, biological, and psychological domains.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Shuhaimi highlighted the regiment's essential capabilities, such as conducting strategic intelligence operations, infiltrating enemy territory undetected, training guerrilla forces, and carrying out direct action missions. He noted that emerging threats like hybrid and asymmetric warfare require rapid, stealthy, and effective responses, underscoring the importance of maintaining and enhancing these capabilities through regular and effective training.

Ahmad Shuhaimi shared these insights during the diamond jubilee celebration marking the 60th anniversary of the Special Service Regiment at the 21 GGK headquarters parade ground in Kem Iskandar. The event was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the 21 GGK Headquarters, Brigadier General Samsyawal Muhamad, and Chief of Service Staff, Brigadier General Mohd Musyadi Abdul Mutalib.

He further remarked on the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous nature of today's geopolitical security landscape, which necessitates swift adaptation and constant vigilance against dynamic threats, whether conventional, unconventional, or hybrid. The regiment is actively engaging in studies and implementing measures to strengthen its organizational structure, develop operational doctrines, acquire high-tech assets, build modern training facilities, and expand joint training with both local and international special forces. These efforts aim to ensure the regiment remains proactive in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty.
