Kuala lumpur: The second phase of the new pay rise under the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), effective today, is expected to drive continued civil service excellence, in line with the MADANI Government commitment, said Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. He said the implementation of the pay increase is part of the government's efforts to safeguard civil servants' welfare while ensuring continued improvement in public service delivery.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the pay rise, which comes into effect today, marks the start of the second phase of the new pay increase under the Public Service Remuneration System. The Chief Secretary emphasized the government's dedication to enhancing the well-being of civil servants, aligning with the MADANI Government's objectives.
Civil servants under SSPA will see their second-phase pay rise reflected in today's salary, which is the official salary date for the month. This adjustment is based on their pay as of December 31, 2025, even though the new pay adjustment took effect on January 1, 2026. The second-phase pay adjustment builds on the 2024 SSPA increases, raising pay by 15 per cent for the Implementation Group and Management and Professional Group (P and P), and by seven per cent for the Top Management Group.
Under Phase Two, the P and P group receive an additional seven per cent increase, while those in the top management receive a three per cent adjustment. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had previously announced a pay rise of more than 13 per cent for civil servants, effective from December 2024, as part of the MADANI Government's civil service reform agenda.
