Strong Earthquake Strikes Mindanao, Philippines

Mindanao: A strong earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale struck Mindanao, Philippines at 9.44 this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement said the earthquake was centred at coordinates 7.3 degrees North and 127.0 degrees East, which is about 122 kilometres southeast of Bislig, Philippines, with a depth of 70 kilometres.

However, there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
