Sultan Nazrin Accepts RM3.56 Mln In Business Zakat From Five Companies

Kuala Kangsar: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, accepted business zakat (tithe) payments totaling RM3,566,854 (RM3.56 million) from five corporate companies on behalf of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) at Istana Iskandariah. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the zakat handover was led by Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Mubarak Ali Gulam Rasul, who contributed RM1,499,192 on behalf of the company. Puncak Emas Infra Sdn Bhd, represented by its chief executive officer Mesnor Bujang, presented RM1,034,000. The Royal College of Medicine Perak's chief executive officer and campus head, Hisshamuddin Omar, handed over RM400,000. TM Technology Services Sdn Bhd, represented by TM ONE northern region business general manager Ahmad Nazri Ambi, contributed RM509,262, while Zaman Motors Sdn Bhd, represented by its director Datuk Khadri Khalid, handed over RM124,400. Syamsul Hazeman Md Salleh, MAIPk chief executive officer, stated that the zakat present ation ceremony concluded with an iftar event attended by religious officers and imams.
