‘Sumud Protocol’ Framework Aims to Bolster Palestinian Liberation Efforts

Kuala Lumpur:The 'Sumud Protocol' framework is anticipated to unite Malaysians and the global community in strengthening the Palestinian liberation movement, according to Datuk Dr. Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby, CEO of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisations (MAPIM).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the framework is designed to turn solidarity with Palestine into coordinated actions involving various sectors, such as the media, university students, and politicians from different parties.

The initiative culminated in a gathering of 250 delegates from 43 countries in Kuala Lumpur, hosted to explore how to integrate their momentum into the 'Sumud Protocol'. The protocol envisions media practitioners advocating the cause, students being empowered, and politicians uniting regardless of party affiliations.

The event, held during the Sumud Nusantara Dinner, also saw the attendance of Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, and Bernama CEO Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, patron of the Sumud Nusantara Movement, officiated the event and launched the 'Sumud Protocol' framework. Sani Araby highlighted the Prime Minister's mandate to ensure Malaysia remains a steadfast supporter of the Palestinian liberation movement.

The launch is part of the ongoing Sumud Nusantara movement and the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) aimed at raising international awareness of the Palestinian plight. Sani Araby emphasized the importance of this national agenda being supported across all sectors of Malaysian society.

The 'Sumud Protocol' serves as a global roadmap for coordinated efforts towards Palestinian liberation, detailing five main action tracks motion pictures, parliamentary action, civil society and youth movements, flotillas to Gaza, and convening the Global Sumud Congress.

Additionally, the congress endorsed the Global Sumud Movement Foundation Resolution, which establishes strategic pillars focusing on accountability and justice, self-determination for Palestinians, humanitarian solidarity, public awareness, and global cooperation.
