Super League 2026/2027: NSFC-KL City Match Called Off, City Boys Down With Influenza

Paroi: The Super League match between Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) and Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City) scheduled to be held at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi at 5 pm this evening cannot be held after almost half of the city squad players were confirmed to have influenza.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) in a statement today announced that the decision was made after receiving an official application from KL City regarding the health condition of their players. KL City in its official application stated that 15 players and two team officials were experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, cold, and diarrhoea through a medical report letter to the MFL.

The club indicated that all players and officials involved will be referred to the Petaling District Health Office (PKD) for further treatment as the disease is infectious and requires time for recovery. After assessing the application and the situation faced by Kuala Lumpur City FC, MFL has decided that the match cannot be held to ensure that the welfare and health of the players and team officials are given priority.

MFL, however, announced that it will bring the matter to the board of directors level to make a decision on the status of the match in the near future.
