SUV Carrying Six Indonesians Crashes Into Surau, Two Dead

Pasir puteh: Two Indonesian women died after the sports utility vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in with four other individuals is believed to have skidded before crashing into a surau at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Jawa 2 on Jalan Selising-Bukit Merbau, Pasir Puteh, early this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief Azhar Helmi Mustofar said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 6.34 am. Following this, seven members from Pasir Puteh station and six members from Ketereh BBP, along with two engines, were mobilized to the location.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the SUV had skidded and crashed into a surau located by the roadside. The vehicle carried six Indonesian nationals. Two female passengers seated in the back, aged in their 30s and 50s, were confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head and body injuries sustained from being trapped.

Azhar Helmi detailed that initial information revealed the male driver had a wife from Machang. Firefighters utilized special equipment to extract the trapped victims before their bodies were handed over to the police.

He further informed that the four other injured individuals were transported to Tengku Anis Hospital, Pasir Puteh for medical treatment. The rescue operation concluded at 7.44 am.
