Syamsul Haris’ Mother Withdraws Motion for First Autopsy Report of Son’s Death

Johor bahru: The High Court here today permitted the withdrawal of a notice of motion by the mother of Syamsul Haris Shamsudin, a Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Reserve Officers Training Unit (PALAPES) trainee cadet who died during training. The motion sought an order for Kota Tinggi Hospital, Johor, to provide a copy of the first autopsy report on her son's death.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Judge Datuk Bhupindar Singh Gurcharan Singh Preet approved the application by Ummu Haiman Bee Daulatgun, 46, after her lawyer, Aiman Haziq Saiful Kamal, informed the court that they had received the necessary reports. "We intend to withdraw the notice of motion. This is because we have received the autopsy report and (first) medical report on Dec 30, 2025, from the prosecution and also the Bukit Tinggi Hospital, Johor," the lawyer stated during the case mention today.

The prosecution, led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Parvin Hameedah Natchiar, raised no objections to the application. Syamsul Haris, aged 22, passed away at Kota Tinggi Hospital on July 28, 2025, following training activities at the Army Combat Training Centre in Ulu Tiram. The death was initially classified as sudden death (SDR).
