Kuala lumpur: West Coast Expressway (WCE) Malaysia Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement General Manager Syed Mohammed Idid, has been named 'Communicator of the Year 2025' by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Asia-Pacific (APAC) in the Senior Communication Professional category.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, with a career spanning more than 30 years, IABC APAC stated that Syed Mohammed Idid has been recognised as one of Malaysia's leading crisis communication experts, often sought after for his steady guidance in high-stakes and complex situations. 'His work is defined by professionalism, empathy and a deep commitment to developing the next generation of communicators,' the association noted in a statement.
We Communications Malaysia Communications Consultant Daniel Delaney, who nominated him for the award, remarked that Syed Mohammed Idid exemplified what it means to be a generous communicator and mentor, sharing his decades of experience with sincerity and zero hesitation.
Meanwhile, another recipient of the award, DITO CME Holdings Corporation's chief operating officer, Dr. Donald Lim, was recognised in the Executive Leader category and is widely regarded as the Philippines' Father of Digital Marketing. IABC APAC highlighted Lim's role in transforming communication practice within dynamic organisations and promoting human-centred, tech-enabled narratives.
IABC APAC Chair Barbara Pesel commented that both Syed Mohammed Idid and Lim embodied inspiring attributes, exceptional skills, and profound impact that the association values. She added that they serve as examples of success for others within IABC APAC to emulate and learn from.
