Tabung Pahlawan Campaign Raises RM2.18 Million to Support Armed Forces Veterans

Melaka: The 2025 Tabung Pahlawan Campaign, launched in conjunction with Warriors' Day, has successfully raised RM2.186 million as of July 24. This amount reflects the ongoing support from the public towards the welfare of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) veterans.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari announced the introduction of a QR code donation campaign. This initiative aims to widen outreach and simplify the contribution process, targeting a minimum of RM1 from every Malaysian. Zahari remarked, "Malaysia has more than 34 million people, imagine if every person contributes at least RM1, the impact would be tremendous." The QR code campaign is being circulated widely via social media and official government channels to encourage more public contributions.

During a high tea event with Melaka MAF veterans at Dataran Gangsa, 120 veterans from Melaka, representing 22 associations, were celebrated. They received various contributions, including Cost of Living Aid, Higher Education Aid, Home Repair Assistance, and 'Bakul Rahmah' food baskets. The event was attended by Veterans' Affairs Department (JHEV) director-general Maj Gen Datuk Semaon Marjuki and JHEV Melaka and Negeri Sembilan director, Major Muhammad Zarifi Tumin.

Adly Zahari also highlighted the adoption of the Veteran Digital Card, which was introduced in September last year. Currently, 151,000 MAF veterans have registered and are using this digital card. Zahari encouraged those who have not yet switched to update their information and benefit from the convenience of accessing their details on smartphones. The digital card aims to improve service delivery efficiency and modernize the defence welfare management system in alignment with current technology, while the physical card remains in use. JHEV is committed to regularly updating the system to enhance service delivery for veterans.
