Taipei: Taiwan has launched its latest international initiative, 'Go Healthy with Taiwan,' calling on Malaysian innovators and institutions to submit creative project proposals that incorporate Taiwanese health technologies and sustainable lifestyle solutions. Organised by Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the global call for proposals aims to enhance international collaboration in five key health-related sectors.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the five-key sectors are Smart Healthcare Technologies, Medical Aesthetics and Wellness Checkups, Fitness Equipment, Sports Technology, and Bicycles. Taiwan, widely known as the 'Bicycle Kingdom' and a global hub for AI-powered fitness and health innovation, is looking to co-develop and localise solutions through partnerships with fast-growing markets such as Malaysia.

'This initiative presents an opportunity for bilateral cooperation, especially with Malaysia's growing health, wellness, and smart city sectors,' the organisers said in a statement. Three winning proposals will each receive USD30,000 (approximately RM127,000) and gain the opportunity to further collaborate with Taiwanese enterprises.

The deadline for submissions is on Aug 14, and selected entries may also benefit from matchmaking support and international exposure. The campaign was officially launched on June 3 in Taipei, with a baseball-themed event titled 'Pitching Taiwan's Best: A Home Run for Proposals!' featuring Taiwanese baseball star An-Ko Lin and FuBear, the mascot of Taiwan Excellence.

Building on the success of last year's 'Go Green with Taiwan' campaign, which attracted 396 proposals from 45 countries, this year's organisers aim to surpass 500 submissions from all five continents, with strong participation expected from Malaysia's innovation community.
