Tang Jie-Ee Wei Admit Below-par Performance After Malaysia Masters Exit

Kuala lumpur: National mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei admitted they failed to deliver their best performance after being knocked out in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Malaysia Masters at the Unifi Arena here today. Ee Wei expressed their disappointment with their display, noting that they were far from their usual level.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ee Wei remarked, 'We did not produce our usual style of play. I think we did not even reach 20 per cent of our actual performance level,' she said after the match. Tang Jie also acknowledged the need for improvement and stated that the pair would review their performance and make necessary adjustments ahead of their next tournament at the Singapore Open. He highlighted the importance of enhancing their attacking game to ensure better results in future competitions.

Earlier, the world number four duo went down 18-21, 16-21 in 44 minutes, marking the end of Malaysia's challenge in the mixed doubles event and ruling out any local representation in the semi-finals.
