Techno-Huffaz Graduates Secure Full Employment Through Strategic Collaborations

Kuala lumpur: Graduates of the Techno-Huffaz Programme have achieved 100 per cent employability through collaboration with multinational companies (MNCs), which currently require tens of thousands of engineers each year. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi highlighted the significant demand within the industry, pointing out that 60,000 engineers are needed this year, while the country is able to supply only about 6,000.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the government is committed to producing 125,000 professional techno-huffaz by 2050. The programme is being implemented through educational institutions and universities under Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), including Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM). Participants of the programme not only memorise all 30 juz' of the Quran but also pursue professional courses in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI) engineering, the Internet of Things (IoT), and electric vehicles (EV).

Dr Ahmad Zahid shared these insights with reporters after officiating the Gen Huffaz Teknokrat MARA 2026 Assembly and the Santunan Kasih Ramadan at the Federal Territory Mosque. Present at the event were Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang, and MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, along with nearly 10,000 huffaz, comprising students and alumni from MARA educational institutions.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, mentioned the creation of a special pathway for techno-huffaz students at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (MIAT) and the Faculty of Marine Engineering at UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (MIMET) in Lumut, both of which have shown strong performance. He expressed confidence that, with continued monitoring and encouragement, the success of these programmes could be achieved before the 2050 target.

Addressing inquiries about the expansion of the Huffaz Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) model, Dr Ahmad Zahid confirmed that the initiative has already been introduced at seven universities under the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN) and is being implemented across the country. Meanwhile, MARA announced that the government has allocated RM30 million to implement the MARA Industrial Boot Camp (IBC). The programme aims to train 720 students in professional and technical skills, providing industry-recognised certification and guaranteed employability, while aligning the skills of tahfiz graduates with industry needs.
