Kuala lumpur: Rapid technological advances have reshaped the crime landscape, underscoring the need to strengthen laws, enforcement capabilities, and strategic cooperation to safeguard public security in both the physical and digital worlds.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail emphasized that the increasingly complex challenges require the government and enforcement agencies to adopt a comprehensive approach involving multiple stakeholders. Saifuddin expressed that for the Home Ministry, these challenges necessitate the fortification of laws and strategic partnerships to ensure public safety remains intact across all domains.

Saifuddin highlighted the necessity of a collaborative effort, stating that the government and enforcement agencies cannot tackle these evolving threats alone. Instead, they must leverage the strengths of various sectors through a Whole-of-Government and Whole-of-Nation approach. This approach aims to unify the efforts of the government, academia, industry, technology providers, and international partners.

He noted the crucial role of the academic community and researchers in translating security-related research into actionable measures that benefit the public. Saifuddin urged that research should extend beyond publications and conference discussions, emphasizing the importance of converting findings into policies and real-world solutions.

Saifuddin also extended his congratulations to the organizers and participants of the Sixth International Cyber Resilience Conference (CRC2026). He stated that the conference serves as an essential platform for bridging research, policymaking, enforcement, and national security needs, highlighting the importance of CRC2026 as a connector between knowledge and practical enforcement.

Furthermore, Saifuddin challenged academics and researchers to ensure their findings are implemented into policies and protective measures that have a tangible impact on society. The three-day CRC2026 conference, which commenced on Tuesday in Bangi, focuses on enhancing cyber resilience in the face of evolving digital security threats.
