Melaka: A mother and her son died, while another was severely injured, after they were allegedly stabbed by a teenage boy in an incident at Taman Rambai Mutiara, Bukit Rambai here, early today. Melaka Police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar reported that the victims, a 51-year-old teacher and her 21-year-old eldest son, were found lying in the living room, covered in blood.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 5 am incident involved a 17-year-old male suspect, who is also the victim's second son. He allegedly entered his mother's room to attack her with a folding knife, leading to a struggle. The suspect's elder brother tried to intervene but was also stabbed, while the youngest brother, aged 13, was injured while attempting to help.

Datuk Dzulkhairi explained that the suspect was arrested outside his home, where he appeared to be in a daze. A folding knife, 20 centimetres in length and stained with blood, was found in the suspect's school bag outside the house. Bloodstained clothes believed to belong to the suspect were discovered in nearby bushes, and CCTV footage from a neighbour's house confirmed that no one else had entered the premises during the incident.

Initial investigations revealed the suspect's motive stemmed from resentment and emotional stress, reportedly due to being constantly scolded by his mother. Neighbours indicated that the suspect was often urged by his mother to study harder for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination, which might have contributed to his emotional stress. They also reported frequent quarrels in the household.

Datuk Dzulkhairi noted that several stab wounds were found on the victims, located on the neck, waist, and back. The bodies were sent to Melaka Hospital for post-mortem examination, while the surviving victim remains in stable condition at the hospital. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
