Teenage Girl Faces Charges in Banting School Stabbing Case

Banting: A teenage girl accused of stabbing a student at a secondary school in Banting arrived at the Telok Datok Magistrate's Court here today to face charges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the teenager was escorted to the court compound at 8.32 am under tight police security. She had been previously remanded for four days starting from July 7, with the case being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

Earlier, members of the media were denied entry into the court compound, as the case involves a juvenile accused. Reports from yesterday indicated that the stabbing of a Form Three female student at a secondary school in Banting, Kuala Langat, was allegedly motivated by resentment against a schoolmate.

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that preliminary investigations, including statements from several individuals and 10 students whose names appeared in a note on social media, revealed that the incident was not related to bullying.

The Selangor Education Department earlier issued a statement confirming that the suspect had been arrested by police, while the injured student was receiving treatment at Banting Hospital.
