TEENAGE GIRL REPORTED MISSING IN BATANG KALI, FOUND SAFE

KUALA LUMPUR, A 17-year-old girl who was reported missing in Batang Kali on Tuesday, was found safe in Triang, Bera, Pahang at 12.30 midnight last night.

Hulu Selangor district police deputy chief DSP Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said following Nurul Aishah Farhana Azni’s discovery, police arrested a man believed to be the teenager’s boyfriend in his 20s.

“The victim who had family problems was found in a house belonging to the suspect’s relative. The victim and the suspect are also believed to be in a relationship,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Asri said the victim was taken to the Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for a health check-up while the urine test conducted on the suspect was found to be negative for drugs and the result of a check on the suspect, who is also unemployed, showed no past record involving criminal or drug cases.

“The suspect who was believed to have ran away with the victim, was remanded from today until July 27 and the case is being investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code and Sect
ion 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” he said.

Yesterday, the police asked for the public’s help in locating the teenage girl who was last seen at Makan Sakon Thai, Jalan Mahagoni 7/1A Bandar Utama Batang Kali, Selangor at 9.30 pm on Tuesday.
