Telco Services Restored in Bukit Pilah After Vandalism Repairs

Bukit pilah: Telecommunication services have been restored in areas affected by the vandalism of 14 telecommunication towers in Bukit Pilah after repairs to the towers were completed.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) reported that 2G and 4G services for over 1,668 users were disrupted following the theft of equipment from a telecommunications tower owned by CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi), which impacted 13 other nearby towers.

The MCMC conducted a site visit to the affected location along with CelcomDigi and discovered that critical communication equipment, including the Radio Transport System (RTS) and Baseband Unit (BBU), had been stolen, causing service disruptions in the surrounding areas. "CelcomDigi carried out restoration work by reactivating all affected towers in stages," stated the commission in a recent announcement.

The MCMC has also urged the public to report any suspicious activities observed around telecommunication towers to prevent future incidents and ensure continuous service stability.
