George Town:According to BERNAMA News Agency, the rightmost lanes in both directions of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway will be temporarily closed from October 12 to February 28, 2027. This closure is to facilitate the next phase of construction for an elevated U-turn.

The closure will impact the median-side rightmost lanes of both the George Town-bound and Bayan Lepas-bound carriageways. IJM Land Berhad, the master developer of THE LIGHT Waterfront Penang, stated that these measures are necessary to ensure a safe working area during the construction.

The initial phase of the elevated U-turn construction was completed successfully in early September. Once finished, the U-turn is expected to enhance road connectivity and traffic flow along the expressway, complementing the Air Itam Bypass.

Motorists are urged to plan their journeys, adhere to directional signage, and exercise caution in the affected areas. IJM Land Berhad assured that further updates would be provided as the construction progresses and expressed gratitude for the public's patience and understanding throughout this period.
