Shah alam: Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin officiated the 16th National Graduation Parade and Commissioning Parade of the Civil Defence Student Corps (SISPA Kor) and 2025 Commissioning Ceremony at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) here today. Her arrival at 10.20 am was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, and Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Datuk Aminurrahim Mohamed.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, during the ceremony, Her Royal Highness presented the Best SISPA Cadet Officer Award to 24 officers representing their respective Institutions of Higher Learning (IPT) and a special award, the Chief Commissioner's Cup (Best Among The Best). A total of 918 students from universities and teacher training institutes nationwide were commissioned as Second Lieutenants (Civil Defence) at today's ceremony.
APM stated in a statement that the SISPA Corps, introduced as a structured co-curricular module since 2010, aims to empower students throughout their studies with knowledge and training in the field of civil defence. The SISPA Corps plays a role in developing human capital that is volunteer-spirited, has leadership qualities, and is prepared to face emergencies and disasters.
"After completing all the prescribed training modules, qualified SISPA Cadet Officers will be commissioned as Second Lieutenants (PA) for Bachelor's degree students, or Junior Staff (PA) for Diploma students," the statement added.
