According to BERNAMA News Agency, Terengganu FAMA clarified that the incident in question actually took place at Kuala Besut Morning Market and did not involve any farmers' market managed by the agency. The statement emphasized that only two farmers' markets in Besut fall under FAMA's supervision, namely the Jerteh Farmers' Market, which operates every Thursday from 7 am to 1 pm, and the Alor Lintang Farmers' Market, which operates on Saturdays from 7 am to 1 pm.

The statement was issued in response to a viral social media post from the previous day, which featured a man believed to be a foreign national selling vegetables at a morning market in Besut.
