Terengganu KPDN Seizes Nearly 70,000 Litres Of Diesel

Terengganu: The Terengganu branch of the Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized 69,500 litres of diesel in two separate raids here yesterday. Its director, Saharuddin Mohd Kia, stated that enforcement officers also confiscated a tanker lorry and eight skid tanks valued at RM464,660 during the operations near Kampung Labohan, Kerteh.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the raids were conducted by a team of Terengganu KPDN enforcement officers and the Royal Malaysian Police around noon, following two weeks of surveillance. Investigations revealed that the sites were illegal storage facilities stockpiling diesel without proper authorisation from the Controller of Supplies.

Saharuddin disclosed that the premises were owned by different individuals who allegedly moved controlled goods from a licensed location to unlicensed sites. Four men, aged between 33 and 58, were detained in connection with the case. They are believed to be the owners, a storekeeper, and a lorry driver, and are being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

He emphasized that KPDN would not tolerate any acts of misappropriating subsidised controlled goods, warning of strict actions against offenders.
