Terengganu Records RM399.8 Million Investments In First Quarter Of 2026

Terengganu: Terengganu recorded total investments worth RM399.8 million in the first quarter of this year. State Digital Economy, New Income, Trade, Industry and Green Technology committee chairman Mohd Nurkhuzaini Ab Rahman announced the figures, highlighting the significant contribution of the services sector, which accounted for RM336.4 million, or 84.1 percent, of the total investments. The manufacturing sector contributed RM63.4 million, making up 15.9 percent of the investments.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, domestic investment played a major role, contributing 87.1 percent or RM348.4 million of the total approved investments. Foreign investments accounted for 12.9 percent, equivalent to RM51.5 million. These figures were disclosed during the question-and-answer session at the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly sitting at Wisma Darul Iman, where Mohd Nurkhuzaini was responding to a query from Ahmad Shah Muhamed (PAS-Bandar) regarding the confirmed investments for the first quarter of 2026 and potential investments for the year.

Mohd Nurkhuzaini mentioned that there are currently nine potential investment projects under consideration, spanning sectors such as utilities, renewable energy, logistics, and hospitality. He also noted that, for the same period, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) approved investments valued at RM91.2 million. These approved investments encompass four projects expected to generate 254 job opportunities in the region.
