Three Bangladeshi Men Killed, Two Others Injured In Highway Crash At LPT1

Kuantan: Three Bangladeshi men were killed and two others injured after the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were travelling in skidded off the road at KM200.8 of the East Coast Highway (LPT) 1 near here, yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Acting Kuantan police chief Supt Mohd Adli Mat Daud stated that the crash took place at approximately 7:30 pm, leading to the deaths of the driver, Md Sabber Hasan, 30, and two passengers, Md Jahid Hasan, 21, and Abdullah, 24, at the scene.

He elaborated that preliminary investigations indicated the group was travelling in a Toyota Avanza heading from Kuantan towards Kuala Lumpur when the driver apparently lost control, causing the vehicle to skid to the left side of the road.

The accident also resulted in injuries to two other passengers, Md Habib Bissas, 45, and Maniram Chandra Bas, 40. Both were transported to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) for medical treatment, as stated by Mohd Adli in a press release.

Further investigations revealed that the driver of the MPV did not possess a valid driving license, and the vehicle's road tax had expired since May 2025. The case is under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
