Johor bahru: Police have arrested three male foreigners to assist investigations into the stabbing of a disabled taxi driver at a workers' dormitory in Desa Cemerlang here on Saturday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Seri Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Sohaimi Ishak stated that the men were apprehended at the workers' dormitory in Desa Cemerlang at around 2.30 am yesterday. The suspects are currently being held in custody to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The three suspects have been remanded for four days until Thursday as authorities work to gather more information regarding the incident. The arrest took place following the violent assault on the taxi driver, Mohd Zulkefli Mydin, 40, who sustained multiple injuries during the attack.
Mohd Zulkefli was stabbed in the abdomen and left thigh, and also suffered a slash to his left wrist. Following the attack, he was rushed to the Sultan Ismail Hospital for emergency treatment at about 10.30 pm on the day of the incident. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this violent act.
