Kuala lumpur: Three pairs of twins are among 321 new students enrolling at Ungku Omar Polytechnic (PUO) here for the 2025/2026 academic session. PUO director Dr. Salmi Che Meh said the twins, all aged 18, registered at the polytechnic on Sunday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Amir Hakim Suhaimi and Muhammad Amirul Hakim from Batu Pahat, Johor, will be pursuing the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration). Sisters from Bercham, Ipoh, Kuah Yong Lin, enrolled in the Diploma in Accounting programme, while Kuah Yong Fei registered for the Diploma in Finance. Meanwhile, Amir Iman Amirul Azam will be pursuing the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration), while his twin, Amir Aiman, enrolled in the Diploma in Retail Management. They are from Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.
Salmi noted that this year's intake comprises 185 male and 136 female students from various states. They will be furthering their studies in fields such as engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, and maritime), information and communication technology, and commerce.
She emphasized that in line with the country's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Malaysia MADANI aspiration, PUO provides a conducive and inclusive learning environment that holistically supports students' character development.
