Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Alert for Eight Malaysian States Until Evening

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in eight states, including Sabah and Sarawak, until 6 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia's statement highlighted that the adverse weather conditions are expected to impact several areas. In Kedah, the regions of Kota Setar, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, and Sik are on alert. Meanwhile, in Perak, Manjung and Perak Tengah are anticipated to experience severe weather. Kemaman in Terengganu is also under warning.

The alert extends to Kuantan in Pahang and Hulu Langat in Selangor, along with Jelebu and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan. In Sarawak, the areas likely to be affected include Sarikei (Sibu) and Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro). In Sabah, regions such as the Interior Division (Keningau and Tambunan), the West Coast Division (Papar and Penampang), and Sandakan (Kinabatangan) are expected to face similar weather conditions.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather advisories to ensure safety.
