Thunderstorm and Strong Winds Alert for Eight Malaysian States

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather alert warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across eight states, expected to last until 5 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia announced that the warning covers several districts in Perak, including Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, and Batang Padang. The alert also extends to areas in Terengganu, specifically Dungun and Kemaman, as well as in Pahang with Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, and Kuantan being affected.

In Selangor, the districts of Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat, and Sepang are under the weather alert. The warning similarly applies to the entire regions of Melaka and Johor. In Sarawak, the areas of Kuching, including Bau and Kuching districts, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, and Betong, along with several others, have been identified as potentially impacted.

Sabah is also expected to experience severe weather conditions, particularly in the west coast areas such as Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud. Additionally, the districts of Lahad Datu in Tawau, Sandakan, including Kinabatangan and Sandakan districts, and Kota Marudu in Kudat have been highlighted in the alert.

The department has urged residents in these regions to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions in response to the weather conditions.
