Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in several areas in the Peninsula, Sarawak, and Sabah until 5 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia stated that the states expected to be affected in the Peninsula are Penang, specifically the Southwest, Northeast, and Seberang Perai Utara; Perak, including Batang Padang and Muallim; Pahang, covering Cameron Highlands, Raub, and Rompin; and Johor, where Segamat, Kluang, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are likely to experience adverse weather conditions.
In Sarawak, the areas set to be affected include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, and Betong, particularly Saratok and Kabong. Other regions such as Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, including Tanjung Manis, Daro, and Matu, Kapit, Bintulu, specifically Tatau, and Limbang are also anticipated to be impacted.
For Sabah, the warning covers the interior regions of Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, and Nabawan. Additionally, the West Coast areas of Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud, as well as Tawau, encompassing Tawau and Lahad Datu, are likely to be hit by the severe weather conditions.
