Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds expected to affect five states until 1 pm today. The advisory urges residents in the affected areas to remain cautious and take necessary precautions as adverse weather conditions could pose significant risks.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the warning from MetMalaysia specifically identifies several areas within the states. In Selangor, the district of Sabak Bernam is expected to experience these severe weather conditions. Similarly, in Perak, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, and Hilir Perak are under the alert.
The warning extends to Sarawak, where regions including Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei, and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu), Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro), Kapit, Bintulu (Tatau), Miri, and Limbang (Limbang) are anticipated to face similar weather challenges.
In Sabah, the Interior Division, which includes Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, and Beaufort, along with the West Coast Division (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud), and the Kudat Division (Kudat), are also forecast to experience thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
Additionally, MetMalaysia's warning includes the Federal Territory of Labuan, where residents should also prepare for the impending adverse weather conditions.
