Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Alert in Eight Malaysian States and Kuala Lumpur

Kuala lumpur: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to hit eight states and Kuala Lumpur until 9 pm tonight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a warning issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) this evening highlighted that Perak, including areas such as Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Mualim, is among the affected states. Kelantan will also experience similar conditions, particularly in Jeli and Kuala Krai.

Pahang, with regions like Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, and Rompin, is on the alert, as well as areas in Selangor, including Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, and Hulu Langat. Negeri Sembilan's Seremban and Jelebu, along with Johor's Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru, are also expected to be affected by the adverse weather.

In Sarawak, regions such as Sri Aman, Sibu (including Sibu and Selangau), Kapit (Song), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Miri and Marudi), and Limbang are anticipated to experience the severe weather conditions. Similarly, Sabah's Interior (Tenom, Beaufort, and Tambunan), West Coast (Ranau), Tawau, Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan), and Kudat (Kota Marudu) are set to be impacted by the storms.
