Melaka: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning concerning thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in two states, effective until 2 pm today. The affected areas include Melaka and parts of Johor, specifically Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the warning was disseminated by MetMalaysia in a statement at 10.40 am. The adverse weather conditions are anticipated to be characterized by thunderstorms and a rainfall intensity exceeding 20 millimetres per hour, either imminent or expected to continue for more than an hour.

The issued thunderstorm warning is categorized as a short-term alert, with a validity period not exceeding six hours.
