Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain to Hit Multiple Regions in Malaysia Until 7 PM

Kuala lumpur: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are forecast to affect Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and 10 states until 7 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) stated that the adverse weather conditions would impact several regions. In the northern part of the country, areas such as Perlis and Penang are expected to experience the harsh weather. In Kedah, Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Kuala Muda, and Kulim are also on alert. Similarly, in Perak, regions including Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, and Bagan Datuk are anticipated to be affected.

The forecast extends to the east coast and central regions, with Gua Musang in Kelantan and multiple areas in Terengganu, including Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, and Dungun, under warning. In Pahang, Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, and Rompin are expected to face similar weather conditions. Selangor's districts of Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang are also included in the alert.

In Sarawak, the warning encompasses several divisions such as Kuching, covering Bau and Kuching in Kuching Division; Serian; Samarahan; Sri Aman; Betong; Sarikei; and Selangau in Sibu Division. Other areas include Mukah; Song and Kapit in Kapit Division; Tatau in Bintulu Division; and Subis and Miri in Miri Division.

Sabah is not exempt from the adverse conditions, with the Interior Division's Keningau and Tambunan, the West Coast Division's Ranau, and the Sandakan Division's Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan being under weather alert. Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed on the latest weather updates.
