Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms in several areas nationwide until 7 pm today. The department's alert covers a wide range of regions, indicating potentially disruptive weather conditions throughout the day.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the affected areas include Perlis, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. In Perak, the weather is expected to impact regions such as Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, and Muallim. Pahang will see similar conditions in Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Bentong, Maran, Kuantan, and Rompin.
In the southern regions, Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan, along with the entirety of Melaka and Johor, are forecasted to experience thunderstorms and heavy rain. Meanwhile, in Sarawak, areas like Serian, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi), and Limbang are expected to be affected.
The alert also extends to the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau, and Tambunan) and the West Coast (Papar, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud) in Sabah. Residents in these regions are advised to remain cautious and prepare for potential disruptions caused by the adverse weather conditions.
