‘Tingog’ centers open with P6-M fund in Iligan, MisOr

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY:The Tingog Partylist Centers opened in two local government units in the Northern Mindanao Region, using a PHP6 million seed fund to extend social welfare assistance.

Mayor Jayfrancis Bago of Opol, Misamis Oriental, received the initial seed fund of PHP3 million during Friday’s opening to roll out the assistance to qualified beneficiaries.

Bago said the center will provide medical, burial, livelihood, and educational assistance in partnership with other government agencies and the partylist’s congressional office.

Another PHP3 million was given to the Tingog Center in Iligan City.

Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre said the PHP3 million includes the cash aid under the Ayuda para sa Kapos Ang Kita under the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

“This opening is not just opening an office. We’re also starting a new relationship, a new arrangement,” he said.

Iligan City Mayor Frederick Siao said the opening of the Tingog Center is an opportunity to extend social services on top
of what the local government can provide.
