Kuala lumpur: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), a leading utility company in ASEAN, is building a future-ready procurement ecosystem through stronger regional collaboration, said its chief procurement officer, Ir. Ts. Amir Mahmod Abdullah. He emphasized the growing importance of this initiative as organizations face evolving supply chains, geopolitical shifts, and changing regulatory landscapes.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, TNB is actively supporting the ASEAN Centre of Excellence as a platform to drive supply chain innovation, foster regional partnerships, and elevate procurement excellence across ASEAN economies. During a panel discussion entitled 'The Future of Regional Procurement Centre of Excellence' at the Procurement Leadership ASEAN Summit (PLAS) 2026, Amir highlighted the need to address differences in market dynamics, supplier ecosystems, regulatory frameworks, and supply chain and trade policies across ASEAN's 11 member countries.
The session examined how ASEAN can enhance procurement capabilities through collaboration, governance, and innovation, while building resilient supply chains across the region. Amir stressed the importance of establishing stronger regional platforms that enable knowledge sharing, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
Through active participation in regional platforms such as PLAS 2026 and its support for the ASEAN Centre of Excellence, TNB remains committed to strengthening governance, fostering collaboration, and supporting a more resilient, sustainable, and future-ready procurement ecosystem across ASEAN.
