Tokyo: Toshiba Electronic Devices and Storage Corporation has unveiled the "TCKE6 series," a new line of 40V electronic fuses (eFuse ICs) designed for both industrial and consumer applications, enhancing its portfolio of power line circuit protection products. The series includes five new products: 'TCKE601RA,' 'TCKE601RL,' 'TCKE602RM,' 'TCKE603RA,' and 'TCKE603RL,' with shipments starting immediately.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the TCKE6 series offers benefits over standard physical fuses by integrating multiple protection functions, such as current limiting and overvoltage protection. These capabilities safeguard circuits from potential damage caused by excessive current or voltage, which physical fuses are unable to provide. The embedded thermal protection function ensures that the eFuse ICs shut down when abnormal heat is detected or during unexpected short-circuits, thus protecting subsequent circuits.
The streamlined design of the eFuse ICs simplifies circuit architecture by reducing the need for additional discrete components, leading to more compact and efficient designs with fewer parts. This innovation is expected to significantly enhance the reliability and performance of power line circuits in various applications.
