Kuala lumpur: The final feasibility report for the Trans-Borneo Railway is anticipated to be completed by mid-year following additional engagement sessions with stakeholders in Sabah and Sarawak, stated Transport Minister Anthony Loke. He noted that the proposed Trans-Borneo Railway project, if implemented, could take decades to be fully realized, stressing the importance of establishing a long-term plan as the foundation for the project.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke recently received a preliminary briefing regarding the interim feasibility report for the railway project and advised consultants to consider the economic plans of the Sarawak and Sabah state governments. The aim is to ensure that the proposed alignments will effectively serve as a catalyst for regional development. Loke expressed his commitment to achieving balanced development within the Malaysian Federation under the MADANI framework.
