Tremors From Segamat Quake Felt Across Multiple Malaysian States

Segamat: Tremors from the 4.1-magnitude quake that struck Segamat, Johor, at 6.13 am today were also felt in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and southern Pahang. Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, approximately five kilometres west of Segamat. The department will continue to monitor the situation closely, he stated in a statement.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Johor government has advised the public to avoid unsafe structures and remain alert to instructions from authorities following the weak earthquake. Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi mentioned that he had communicated with Segamat district officer Mohd Ezzuddin Sanusi, who confirmed that no casualties or property damage had been reported so far.
