Tunis: Tunisias investment agency is keen to attract Malaysian companies by offering them support to tap into Arab and European markets.
According to Nam News Network, Malaysian Ambassador to Algeria Datuk Rizany Irwan Muhamad Mazlan, who is accredited to Tunisia, stated that the interest was conveyed by Tunisian Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) general manager Jalel Tebib during a meeting held in Tunis, recently.
"I briefed FIPA on the growing interest of Malaysian conglomerates to explore trade and industrial partnerships in the region," Rizany told Bernama on Monday.
FIPA informed the ambassador about Tunisias investment framework, priority sectors, and competitive advantages due to the country's close links to the markets in North Africa, Europe, and Arab countries.
"We discussed potential joint investment promotion, exchange of market information, and trade missions comprising Malaysian and Tunisian private sector entities," the ambassador said.
Trade between Malaysia and Tunisia was valued at US$261 million in 2025.
