TVET Graduates in Malaysia Achieve Nearly 100 Percent Marketability Rate

Kuala Lumpur: The marketability rate of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates under the Ministry of Education (MOE) has reached nearly 100 percent, according to data from the TVET Graduate Tracking Study System (SKPG TVET). Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh reported that the marketability rate stood at 99.91 percent in 2023, 99.38 percent in 2022, and 99.16 percent in 2021, demonstrating the strong demand for TVET graduates and their promising career prospects.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, social acceptance of TVET is on the rise, with student participation increasing significantly over recent years. Participation rates grew from 6.30 percent in 2021 to 10.37 percent in 2022, 10.71 percent in 2023, and 11.14 percent by the end of 2024. Deputy Minister Wong addressed these figures during the oral question-and-answer session at the Dewan Rakyat, today.

Wong was responding to an inquiry from Datuk Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik (PH-Balik Pulau), who questioned the ministry's efforts to ensure TVET graduates are not perceived as receiving a second-class education. Wong's response highlighted the growing acceptance and integration of TVET into the educational landscape, emphasizing its role in providing quality career opportunities for students.
