Putrajaya: Two cyclists died after being hit by a vehicle at kilometre 9.0 of Jalan Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya, last night, said Putrajaya district police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the accident occurred at 10.15 pm and involved a vehicle driven by a local man in his 40s and two male cyclists aged in their 40s and 30s, respectively. Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle changed direction from the middle lane to the left lane, subsequently hitting the two cyclists.

As a result of the accident, both cyclists were confirmed dead at the scene due to severe injuries to their face and head. Investigations are ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The police chief urged the public or any witnesses with relevant information to assist in the investigation by contacting the Putrajaya Traffic Police Station at 03-88862138 or any nearby police station.
