Sibu:Two individuals lost their lives when the Perodua Bezza they were in collided with a Mitsubishi Triton four-wheel-drive on Jalan Sibu-Durin this afternoon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victims were identified as Julaihi Raduan, 52, and Marliza Salleh, 49. Both were found unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) reported receiving an emergency call at 4.15 pm. A team of six personnel from the Sibu Jaya Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene within seven minutes. Firefighters used rescue tools to extricate both victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health medical personnel.

The Mitsubishi Triton involved in the accident was carrying five passengers, including two adults and three children. A 33-year-old woman sustained minor injuries, while a 45-year-old man and three children, aged four, seven, and ten, were unharmed.
