Two Dead, Including Baby, in Four-Vehicle Crash on Gua Musang-Kuala Krai Road

Gua Musang:Two people, including a baby girl, were killed in an accident involving three cars and a motorcycle on the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai Road, Kampung Paloh 3, this afternoon.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department reported that the accident occurred at 510 pm and resulted in seven other individuals being injured, including two in critical condition. The collision involved three Perodua Myvi cars and a Modenas motorcycle.

One driver of a Perodua Myvi was critically injured and trapped but was rescued by members of the public before the fire and rescue team arrived. All victims were handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia medical team for further care.

A team from the Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 608 pm to conduct cleanup operations for accident debris and oil spills.

Gua Musang District Police Chief Supt Sik Choon Foo detailed that the accident involved Perodua Myvi cars in red, orange, and white, along with a SYM motorcycle. Preliminary investigations suggest the red Perodua Myvi lost control and veered into the opposite lane, colliding with the orange and white Myvis. The SYM motorcycle, trailing the white Myvi, was unable to avoid the crash and hit the car's rear, causing the rider to be thrown onto the road.

Two passengers in the white Perodua Myvi were confirmed dead at the scene. The injured victims were transported to Gua Musang Hospital, and the bodies of the deceased were sent to the hospital's Forensic Department for post-mortems. The orange Perodua Myvi's driver and passengers were uninjured.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving causing death. Further investigations are ongoing, and the police urge witnesses or anyone with information to contact investigating officer Insp Aida at the Gua Musang District Police Headquarters.
