Two Malaysian Men’s Doubles Pairs Reach Japan Open Quarter-finals

Tokyo: Two Malaysian men's doubles pairs advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2026 Japan Open after Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing, and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, won their respective second-round matches today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Aaron and Khai Xing were first to book their place in the last eight after defeating Taiwan's Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan 21-10, 21-15. However, a stern test awaits them in the quarter-finals tomorrow against tournament top seeds Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae of South Korea.

Meanwhile, Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin also progressed to the quarter-finals after overcoming Denmark's Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 21-18, 21-19 in 40 minutes. Awaiting Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin in the quarter-finals will be either Denmark's Daniel Lundgaard - Mads Vestergaard or the United States pair of Chen Zhi Yi - Presley Smith, who were due to meet in their second-round match later today.
